The Hernando County Fair is back, with Country Nights and Carnival Lights!
For 66 years, the Hernando County Fair & Youth Livestock Show has brought fun and excitement not only to the residents of Hernando County, but for fair goers all throughout the Nature Coast. The Hernando County Fair & Youth Livestock Show is a 9-day event being held from April 21st through April 29th 2017, at the Hernando County Fairgrounds in Brooksville, Florida. This event showcases products in the Agriculture & Forestry industry and features fun for the entire family, including over 80 exhibitors with arts and crafts, live entertainment, truck and tractor pulls, amazing contests, delicious foods, and all of the fun rides in the North America Midway.
As soon as you see the lights, you know something special is happening .
All of the rides, contests, and food, bring you back to your own childhood. A county fair is something that many people may take for granted, but as soon as you re-experience the lights, thrills, smells, and fun, you know that the fair is something you can’t live without.
As we grow older, we may be reluctant to take the time to go to the fair, especially if you don’t have kids. Kids, of course, love the fair – with so many games, rides, and activities for them to choose from, who could you blame them. Adults need not to forget that there is just as much for them to be had as there are for the kids. The truck and tractor pull is a must see, along with the two-night demolition derby. With all the activities and great food it is sure to please everyone.
But let’s not forget about the Youth Livestock show!
The young people will show steers, heifers, market hogs, market lambs and market goats. After the show, the animals will be sold to packers. Each year the Hernando County Youth Livestock Show is hosted at the Hernando County Fairgrounds, with hundreds of philanthropic buyers and sponsors wishing to use their money to benefit children and teenagers willing to work hard to create or raise livestock. Upon entry to the show, the animals are on display for the patrons of the fair to enjoy throughout the week. The students’ exhibit their rabbits, poultry, lambs, goats, beef breeding, steers, swine and dairy cattle and compete for coveted ribbons and prizes. The Youth Livestock Show is definitely a must see! Make sure to visit the Hernando County Fairgrounds web site for more information!
